Welcome to the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) at Franciscan University. The mission of the CTE is to support faculty as they continually pursue excellence in their teaching. In service of our mission, we seek to introduce faculty to best practices and the most up-to-date research regarding student learning and pedagogy, as well as provide opportunities and resources for faculty to continually improve their pedagogical practices. We aim to equip out faculty so that they can best educate our students as we send them forth to be joyful disciples.

Course Innovation Incubator

The Center for Teaching Excellence at Franciscan University of Steubenville wants all educators to experience professional growth and feel personally supported in the pursuit of their career goals. The Course Innovation Incubator provides educators the opportunity to present proposals to innovate on-ground, online, and study abroad courses to increase student engagement across all educational platforms.

Resource Repository

Faculty and other educators are welcome to use the Resource Repository to access a wide variety of articles, blogs, links, pdfs, and other academic resources to enhance their own learning and educational techniques.

The Education Major at Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio prepares future teachers for every aspect of a career in teaching from licensing exams to classroom observations to guiding students to become lifelong learners. The twelve CAEP programs in our accredited education degree program meld Catholic values with practical coursework providing Franciscan students with the necessary skills to excel in the field of education.
